Heatwave for SickKids
Fundraising Tips
At Heatwave Events, every serve, spike, and rally contributes to something far greater than the game itself — supporting SickKids and helping children in need. Fundraising is at the heart of what we do, and we make it fun, achievable, and community-driven. Whether you’re a first-time participant or a returning champion, our step-by-step plan shows just how easy it can be to raise $500 in just seven days.

SickKids with Heatwave Events
Day 1: Start strong with your own contribution of $50. Leading by example inspires confidence and motivates others to join in your cause.
Day 2: Reach out to three family members and ask each to sponsor you for $25. Most loved ones are happy to help when they know their support makes a difference.
Day 3: Expand your reach by asking five friends to chip in $20 each. Sharing your fundraising link on social media or group chats can help you hit this goal quickly.
Day 4: Engage your workplace community by inviting five co-workers to donate $10 each. Small contributions add up fast when teamwork extends beyond the court.
Day 5: Knock on your neighborhood’s heart — ask five neighbours to sponsor you for $20 each. It’s a great way to spread awareness and connect locally.
Day 6: Approach your boss for a company contribution of $50, and if possible, ask them to match employee donations. Corporate giving often boosts morale and doubles impact.
Day 7: Finish strong by following up with everyone who pledged support — gratitude goes a long way. Send thank-you messages and share how close you are to your target to encourage last-minute donations.
Join the movement, inspire your network, and turn your passion for play into purpose. Together, we can make every Heatwave Event not just a day of fun, but a force for good.
The example amounts for days 1–6 total $475. An additional $25 in follow-up donations reaches the $500 target. Results depend on your supporters.
